Sand Tray Therapy

Sand Tray Therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses a sandbox and miniature figures to create scenes and narratives that reflect a person's thoughts, feelings, and experiences. During the therapy session, clients are encouraged to use sand and various figurines to build and manipulate their own world, which can help them express emotions and process experiences that may be difficult to articulate verbally. This nonverbal approach is particularly beneficial for children and individuals who may struggle with traditional talk therapy, as it allows for a safe and creative way to explore their inner thoughts and emotions. The therapist observes and engages with the client’s creations, facilitating discussions that promote insight and healing.
